Description

The Oleificio Polla Nicolo’ is a family business that has been producing premium extra-virgin olive oil for 5 generations since 1875.  

The head office, the shops, and the farm are based in Liguria, in North-West Italy. 

The family’s olive groves are located on terraced hills at 200-600 meters on sea level, taking advantage of the sea breeze. The harvest is done at the end of October and rigorously by hand. The olives are milled within 24-36h to prevent oxidation; the process is fully mechanical and only paper filters are used to guarantee high-quality olive oil with a very low acidity level.

The business is run by CEO Manuela Crotti and a loyal 7 people-staff who have been working for the family for years.

Agents and distributors account for 95% of the sales (€1m), which core is deli shops and restaurants (even starred) in Northern Italy. 5% of the business is developed by the e-commerce www.oliopolla.com with direct delivery to consumers.

The product portfolio accounts for over 50 traditional specialties, locally produced and mainly with olive oil Polla at the core: pesto alla Genovese, olives/vegetables/fish in extra-virgin olive oil Polla, olive tapenade, pasta sauces, and more.

The aim of the company is to grow by developing the distribution of its excellence in countries able to appreciate a superior quality (and pay for it).
